Event Recap: COP30 Panel Discussion
CRIN was proud to host a panel discussion at the Canada Pavilion at COP30 in Belem, Brazil, on November 14, 2025.
The panel was moderated by CRIN Director of Operations Glen McCrimmon and featured panelists Scott Volk, CRIN President and Director of Emissions & Innovation at Tourmaline, Patrick McDonald, Assistant Deputy Minister, Air, Climate and Clean Technology, Alberta Environment and Protected Areas, Stéphane Germain, President of GHGSat, and Alex Petre, CEO of Deep Sky.
The discussion focused on ecosystem collaboration, regulatory and funding support, scaling challenges, and CRIN’s role as a connector and network of networks.
Panelists concluded that Canada has the talent and ecosystem required for cleantech leadership. Scaling deployment will require continued collaboration, strong policy signals, and public-private partnerships to move technologies from pilots to market-ready solutions.
CRIN is scheduled to co-host a side event at COP30 on November 19 with the Global CCS Institute. The discussion will explore how carbon management technologies are scaling up globally.
